A Reflection for Lent and Easter from Bishop Rob

Our Christ Church Curate Father Tim
I was born and bought up in Merton, South West London and attended Garth High school on the St Helier estate. After my A Levels I moved to West Yorkshire to study and gained a degree in Mathematics. At this time I thought my career would be in teaching so went to Nottingham for teacher training. However, having completed the year, I decided teaching was not for me and returned to Yorkshire to study for a Masters in Computing. The year in Nottingham was not wasted as it was during this time I met my wife Alison! The masters led me to an 18 years career in the IT industry working and living in Ilkley, London and Sydney. Following a career change...
...I have spent the last 17 years working for local authorities in Adult Education and currently work for the City of London Corporation which is the Local Authority for the ‘square mile’ in London.
During my years working for Local Authorities; Alison started training for the priesthood and we spent a very happy 2 years in Cambridge.
For Alison’s ordination we moved back down to London where Alison is now Vicar of St Oswald’s in Norbury where we live, with our cat Mollie, in the vicarage.

About 5 years ago I too felt a calling to Ordained ministry and, after successfully negotiating the discernment process, I have spent the past three years studying part time at St Augustine’s College as well as continuing to work, albeit only part time.
For relaxation I enjoy a good murder mystery, talking politics, walking and, although not serious gardeners, we are pleased with our wild-flower ‘meadow’. Click here to read Father Tim relfections on his first week in action.
